Angel is one of a kind professional. You could not have sent a better consultant to my home. He treats not only his clients with respect but he respects your home. I called the company, hoping to have someone come out and help with my air conditioning that was not working in my home. The first company I called said it would be about eight days before they could get to me. I called control point and they were there the same afternoon. Brian arrived At the time the dispatcher told me he would be there. He was professional, courteous, and mindful of my home. After walking through the grass and on the driveway, he put shoe covers on which I told him wasn’t necessary, but he insisted. Once he identified the problem, he still checked every other possibility to make sure everything else is fine. explained everything to me and made recommendations going forward. It was a wonderful experience and I will absolutely use them going forward.

After getting three proposals for a new HVAC system, I decided on Control Point of Shrewsbury. Their approach to replacing my system was unlike any other company's. First off they spent nearly 2.5 hours analyzing my homes size, ceilings height, insulation valve, and various other factors involved in making a home comfortable all year though. They proposed a heat pump and furnace combination, that they said would be the best for energy savings and comfort all year. Highly recommend this company for their expertise in the HVAC field. Their professional technicians, electricians, installers, plumbers, and others were top notch. Every person that came to my house was polite, and professional. They professionally performed the necessary load calculations, determined the best combination of equipment to install, completed all the necessary paperwork for a Mass Save interest free loan for the project, followed through with concise installation over a two day period, and provided expert assistance for submittal of Mass Save and Next Zero rebates totaling over $8600! From their precise in-depth estimate to the timely installation followed up by a meticulously clean work area upon completion of work, they have been a pleasure to work with toward energy efficiency gains in our household. Control point has been excellent. We have engaged their services a few times and have been consistently happy every time. Most recently, Marty came to our house to replace a constantly running booster fan that was quite noisy. Control point was able to find a pressure sensing fan to replace it. Marty came out to replace it and did a fantastic job! He go the job done efficiently and professionally. The fan is quiet and only running when the dryer is on which is perfect for us. If we need further work done, we already know we will using Control Point again!

As first time home buyers considering a 1925 home for purchase, we knew we needed some expert help assessing the property. We had the good fortune of being assigned Josh Pecore and Rob Keyes for our electrical/plumbing team. I cannot thank Rob and Josh enough for their thorough assessment and insightful commentary on the homes current state. They went above and beyond to help us better understand the systems in the home and how we could best care for it (if purchased). It felt like a much needed and appreciated 101 crash course! The company does a great job emailing you the detailed report of findings (with photos). In all honesty, we already knew what to expect because Josh and Rob walked us through each step along the way. They made for an incredible team and complemented each other quite well. We cannot recommend these two highly enough!

REVIEW MAY 2025 Rob Keyes of Control Point just completed a service. Rob arrived promptly as the owner Nick said he would. Rob was friendly and most professional in all discussions. Rob was thorough, knowledgeable, helpful and informative. He checked out everything, identified the problem, showed me the problem, repaired the system and assured me the system looked good reflective of its age after his inspection of both the air conditioning and heating systems. Equally important, Nick once again promptly responded to the need for repairs (which have turned out to be minor-two of which were factory installed plastic plugs) and exhibited customer loyalty. PRIOR REVIEW AUGUST 2023 Control Point Mechanical has done maintenance for our HVAC systems the last few years. When we call to make appointments, the office is responsive, professional, helpful and polite. Kenny has completed thorough maintenance work each time he has been at our home. He is polite, early for appointments, professional in all aspects and spends a lot of time completing the maintenance tasks. Nick the owner is equally professional, informative and responsive as we are planning replacing our hot water heater and entire HVAC systems. Overall a great local company. To support this small business, I highly recommend Control Point Mechanical to all. Control Point Mechanical installed new hot water tank and entire HVAC system and everything went great.

When it was time to replace our gas furnace, i called 3 HVAC contractors. Control Point was chosen based on cost and confidence. I was impressed with both their sales guy who had many years of services experience and was responsive to my many questions and suggestions. The install went smoothly although it took a little longer than expected. We had an issue with the shower water temp and they were able to explain to me over the phone how to correct it. I am happy with my decision to use Control Point.

Marty and Will were part of the Control Point team that installed 2 mini-splits and a heat pump with an air handler (big job)! My wife and I were VERY impressed with Will, Marty, and Josh and the work they did. They were polite, friendly, helpful, neat, and worked efficiently and hard. As far as we can tell, they did excellent work (the system was just installed). From the time we contacted Control Point through the initial proposal(and subsequent revisions with Angel, who really knew his stuff but could also admit when he didn’t know something, and then looked up the answer!) to the final go-through, this company was a class act. The Control Point bid was the most expensive we got on the project, but in this case, we got what we paid for - an excellent installation, top-of-the-line Mitsubishi equipment, and a 12 year warranty on equipment and labor. The warranty is what sold us, initially but we would definitely call them for future projects. Brett came to the house a few weeks after the installation to check airflow and tweak a few things. Like everyone else working for this company, he was polite, friendly, and knew what he was doing. He identified a couple of very minor issues which I am confident will get fixed.

My apartment building had mysteriously ran out of power to all three floors. All boilers would not put out any heat even though the pilots were lit.We’re in the dead of winter and the house is freezing ‘ so cold you can see your own breath. When my third floor tenant moved out and had their electricity shut off his electrical panel contained the power to our boilers. Upon our technician “Ben” The gentle giant arriving, within 35 minutes of him being here he diagnosed the problem. He was a breath of warm air. He walked me through what he was looking at, as I’m a plumbing instructor and had no clue. He traces the power line from fan in the fan in the can ( I call it) to the 3rd floor Electrical panel. He informed me of what I needed to do next, which was Call the electric company and let them know what happened and have them switched the wire from the third floor panel box to the landlord’s box and I did just that. The electrician came out switched the wire and now we all have heat again. All within a few hours! Thank you so much! The the sweet woman on the phone informing me of when the technician would arrive and the heaven sent Gentle giant, My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us warm! Mr. K. Brooks was very professional in his work and explained to me in details although I am not good in the terms I understood very well what he was talking about me heating and cooling system which was not heating the house which has 3 levels. He found out why the house was not heating although I have a new Bosch heat pump and new furnace. My upper floor and main floor heat was not separated thus making the airflow poor. Thanks to Mr. Brooks for recognizing this even after calling the company which installed the system twice and they charged me without fixing the problem I kept complaining about.

I have done routine maintenance on my heating system, but there was a troublesome gas leak that I could not fix and would rather trust a professional with that. They came and fixed it up within 15 minutes and also did it with a fantastic disposition, so kind! Thank you Control Point!

If you are looking for white glove treatment you need to contact Control Point. From the first time you talk to them you feel the professionalism and experience. I had a new boiler installed but initially wanted a heat pump, Angel came out and spoke to me about my options and instead of "just" selling the more expensive product (heat pump) he educated me and let me know that it would actually not work for my situation and I appreciated the honest. They just replaced my entire heating and cooling system with a new, state of the art, AC System, Heat Pump and Furnace. I had the chance to meet many of their employees in the process and they were all, polite, professional and knowledgeable. Control Point Mechanical did an excellent job installing AC and Hyper Heat pump mini split units in our home. These guys were great from start to finish. Nick first recommended a minimum number BTUs and a set number of indoor units to ensure we would have plenty of AC. He then consulted with us on where in the rooms to mount the indoor units. Brett and his crew then chose the ideal place to install the outdoor units, installed everything, and neatly routed all the lines that carry the compressed air. These guys did a professional job. They needed to store the line sets in our garage while working, then swept the entire garage when they were done. When everything was finished, Brett showed how to operate the new units for AC or heat. Owner Nick helped us through the rebate process, too. I can't say enough about how good this company is.

We are renovating our attic into an in-law apartment, and we have solar water heater lines that needed to be relocated into the framing to clear the cathedral ceiling we want. My project plumber was not comfortable with the task, so after many calls to many places (apparently no one wants to service these), Rob at Control Point came out to take a look. His take on the project? "It's just pipes." He came out a week later, drained the system, moved & extended the lines, and refilled the system. The craziest part? They were impressive from beginning to end, and helped make a complex project feel truly manageable. This was the 3rd vendor interviewed, and we knew they would get the job. Dan P. explained the equipment, its' placement, benefits for heating and cooling, and what to expect as the process unfolded. Angela and Brianna were great with scheduling and assisting with the required documents - permits; helping getting everything submitted for the 0% financing; rebates; and tax credits. The entire team was professional, courteous, pleasant, and timely, and always left our home clean. After an energy audit, Mass Save suggested we add mini-split heat pumps to our home. We called a few companies for quotes. Control Point put six mini-split heat pumps in our three level home last winter. We couldn't be happier with the results. They heat and cool the house very well and have reduced our utility bills. We invited four HVAC contractors to give estimates and chose Control Point based on their proposal. They were not the lowest price but we though the system they proposed made the most sense for us. Control Point's estimator, Dan, was by far the best that we saw. He asked what we were looking for, listened to our answers and clearly explained the many options including several things that we hadn't thought about. He paid a lot of attention to how the units would function and also look after installation, both inside and outside. As a result, the units fit in well with our layout and don't detract from the appearance of our home. Control Point also handled all of the local rebate processes and followed up to ensure they were paid promptly. Nine months later, we're thrilled with our system and would definitely choose Control Point again.

My system (Custom Comfort heat pump/ & a/c, & air handler) was installed Feb. 16, 2024, so we've gone thru part of the heating season. The team at Control Point Mechanical was fantastic. They were professional, helpful, & on time!! They answered every question, took care of all the Mass Save rebate paperwork, & made the entire process "pain-free". The sales man, Dan, is an experience pro, & always available to answer questions; Angela took care of the scheduling & paperwork, & quickly responded to any of my questions; & the install team was excellent (they were here for 4 days, & I hardly noticed them). We had a fantastic experience with Control Point and couldn't recommend them more. We competed multiple companies to replace our aging HVAC system and Control Point provided the best price for the overall system. They were detail oriented and optimized the system and offering for our needs. They were also the only company who managed the rebate process through Mass Save, which was a huge benefit as the process isn't straightforward and appears to be consistently changing. After the installation we had a concern about a smell and they were able to come to our house the same day to confirm there was no issue. Dan did an amazing job answering our questions during the quoting period and was extremely patient with our questions. The installation team with Joel and Andrew were professional and respectful.

I had to log in under a second account I have to write a second review for these guys, who deserve only high praise. You see that I wrote a review about our experience in our Shrewsbury condo. Based on that amazing experience (oh, btw, the savings with the Bryant high efficiency system in that townhouse that is roughly 2,100 sq.ft. are absolutely surreal, monthly bills for both heating and cooling have been consistently around $100!) we decided to finally get an HVAC system in our Belmont home which was built in 1932. It was an epic project, on our part (cleaning and prepping the areas for them) and on theirs to install it. Tom who was the team leader confessed it is the biggest & most complicated system they ever installed. We went with Mitsubishi mini-splits, ceiling units on all four bedrooms upstairs, floor units in the LR and DR and a wall unit in the office which are all on the main first floor. We also have a wall unit in the one finished basement room. Total: 8 heads and one large outdoor unit. The work this team did was yet another masterpiece which is why I wanted to write a second review. They are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, professional in each and every detail of the two weeks they were here with us from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 or later every day. We had some fine tuning that had to be done, both Tom and Nick immediately called us about a week post-installation to discuss our concerns and address them, then Tom came back to finish up a few details and teach us how to better use the software. Independent of their work, the software Mitsubishi uses for the mini-splits via the Kumo cloud app, is not so great to put it mildly, maddening really to my engineer husband but sort of acceptable to me. The Kumo cloud team apparently is working on improving it. Back to CPM, I don't have enough words of praise for their entire operation, for the sophistication of the system they installed and overall performance of their company. All I wanted to say is that they did it again, only this time they reached an even higher level of accomplishment. The house is warm and a few days ago we had a tropical storm (in MA in December!) so I was even able to turn on the AC for a few hours, keeping it at 69F. It is a thing of beauty - uniform, quiet, dry air all over the house, delivered in the most efficient way. These guys, are worth every penny and then some! Oh, and now they have a designated person who deals with the MassSave paperwork application, scheduling, warranty items, etc. - her name is Angela and she is absolutely awesome. Only to have that painful part of the MassSave application off my plate and it's absolutely priceless...yet worth a $10,000 rebate to us! Thank you, guys- you are getting better by the day!

Evan came out to my house to check out a leak coming from my a/c. He was in and out and very knowledgeable. He prevented the drain from getting clogged again by putting a clean out T. I was able to arrange an appointment within a week. Tom, is the technician who arrived today and was most impressive! I felt confident and at ease as he explained what he was going to do in detail. He was knowledgeable, and he was cordial, courteous and professional! The services provided were more thorough than I recall from any other HVAC companies I had previously experienced. He tested my smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, changed my thermostat batteries as well as completing the usual maintenance checklist. I will have Control Point do my A C maintenance in the Spring. I shall highly recommend this company to my friends and neighbors who will appreciate finding an excellent company for HVAC services.

I was interested in heat pumps for my home for cooling and I heard there was alot of incentives out there for it. I had multiple companies out but they all offered different solutions and often contradicted themselves which left me more confused than anything. Control Point sent Dan out and he was the only one who made it all make sense to us and showed us how much this system will save us on our heating bills too! Their install team showed up when promised, and did an excellent job. Cleaned up after themselves and then explained to us how to operate it which was very helpful. We had an awesome experience with Control Point. We were due for yearly maintenance and Brianna took the time to explain what exactly would be completed at the time of service and the pricing options available. Tom came out to complete the scheduled maintenance and made sure we were happy with our system and if we had any problems throughout the year. We were looking to find another source of heat. Control point sent Thomas and Brent over to measure and give us ideas on what would work better for our house . In a couple weeks Thomas and Brent was over to start the job we order 3 ceiling units for upstairs and 3 floor units for downstairs. I have had a lot of work done and never have I seen two guys that work together in two days all units up on working. Thomas took the time to go over instructions on how to use when to use the units. Customer service specialist, Brianna, pleasantly and efficiently coordinated everything from start to finish. She answered questions (at all hours!), scheduled appointments and even obtained our Mass Save rebates. Everyone involved in design and installation of the system was prompt, polite, and did a fabulous job. First, Dan came to the house to evaluate needs and propose configurations. He arrived right on time, and was very friendly and professional. He was very knowledgable about the mini-splits and their electrical requirements. He designed an efficient system with a single compressor serving multiple indoor units, resulting in significant savings. The installation team (Joel, Nathan and Marty) arrived as scheduled a couple of weeks later. They were also very friendly, knowledgeable and informative, keeping us posted on progress every step of the way. They did a nice, neat professional job, completing the installation in two days, as estimated. Our new system works great!

Ken showed up with another technician and they quickly and methodically diagnosed a leak in the evaporator in my attic. They were both very professional and fixed the issue. This is my first time using a gas furnace in my home and everything was explained to me, from the workings of the system to temporary fixes to help me stay warm in an emergency. This is a long review…I hope it will save you some time and stress! I found this company after a frustrating experience with the owner of a small HVAC company who said he could repair our 25 yr old boiler that was leaking for $1200 but he could not guarantee the repairs would solve the leak. (We bought the house a little over a year ago.) He subsequently gave me a quote of $18k to replace the boiler and also suggested looking into replacing the system with heat pumps to take advantage of the Mass Saves programs…which is another whole complicated process I would have to undertake and would likely cost $40k. He was very nice and professional but the whole process was overwhelming and I decided I needed another opinion (this was already second opinion, a plumber came first and was not able to diagnose the source of the leak). When I contacted CP, I spoke with Brianna, their very knowledgeable Customer Service Manager. The first bright light in this whole mess was her assurance that if I decided to change the whole system to heat pumps, CP would help manage the process with Mass Saves. I did not have to go this route but IF you are thinking of transitioning to heat pumps, I highly recommend working with a company like CP who will help minimize the inevitable administrative stress and paperwork on your behalf. Brianna first sent out Dan P. to look at the boiler. Dan was not there to repair the boiler, he was there to evaluate the system and our HVAC goals. He patiently asked and answered our questions and gave us a great ‘HVAC 101’ mini-course. He felt the system could be repaired and would likely cost around $2k to do so, but was confident that these repairs (the same repairs the first HVAC guy proposed) would fix the leak. We were happy to move forward with CP at this point. Brianna set up their expert service technician, Ken, to come out within a few days to confirm and make the necessary repairs and to thoroughly test the system after and to be sure there was no more leaking. I could not be home for this service call but my daughter was there and said Ken was professional and worked efficiently and no new boiler issues came up. Thank you, Ken! The invoice for the work was $1900 which I was thrilled to pay. Bottom line (finally!): CP is our new HVAC company and they deserve 5 stars and more! Their HVAC expertise, infrastructure and staff, as well as very reasonable service fees, make me confident we’re in good hands now and it is such a relief. Don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and call Brianna!

After a year and half I was ready to complete a partial Ductless Mini Split install. The original installer could not do the work, for various reasons, I found Control Point on a Google search and reached out to them. They listened to the situation, they came to my home to review the partial install and what my needs were to complete the installation. They then created 4 proposals for me to choose from. Control Point really listened to me and worked to solve the problem/challenge at hand rather than force me into a "box solution". The crew arrived on time. Took their time to make sure the installation worked. And even cleaned up after. They then also explained how the new setup worked and things to keep in mind. Thank you Control Point.

I had two amazing experiences with Control Point with a new home we purchased that will keep me a loyal customer for as long as we are in the area. After a typical, unsatisfactory experience with one of the big companies in the area, I called Control Point to get a more thorough evaluation of our new system. Brianna was very patient with me, listened to my concerns, and even sought a second opinion on the correct team member to send to evaluate our home. Tom came out and spent a ton of time patiently reviewing our whole set up and providing detailed recommendations for how to move forward. About a week later we had a totally unrelated AC emergency. Danielle took my call at nearly midnight on a Saturday night. Tom came out first thing in the morning and fixed the issue immediately. They were totally transparent about all the pricing. Honestly you could not ask for a better and more honest company and their employees are really dedicated to their work. We will be doing some major reworking of our heating and AC configuration in the next year and I wouldn’t trust anyone but a Control Point with the work. Do yourself a favor and call Control Point. I found CPM on a Google search and liked my first conversation with the owner, Nick Lupo. Out of the four companies we considered, CPM was the only one who called back after the first visit and followed up with a serious and extensive project proposal. Nick continued to meet with us via Zoom for the next three months, planning every detail of the complex project we tackled and answering all my husband's questions, who just like Nick is an engineer. Not only is Nick extremely knowledgeable but he has a team of top professionals who do the actual work, Tom Provost leading that team. We replaced a 1986 HVAC/gas furnace heating system with heat pumps. Nick was not only up to the challenge but had clearly done many of these projects in his career. Additionally, he knew all the details of the MassSave programs and helped us navigate the complicated application process which ended up saving us a bit over $7,000 and securing a 7-year interest free loan. Back to execution, the project was complicated and therefore took almost two weeks. We did have a hiccup at the beginning where the new team they had brought in did not understand how to maintain a project site for a residential project like ours (they had done mostly industrial projects). We brought it up to Nick's attention and what followed was the most impressive part of the whole project. He and Tom stopped the work for a day, came to the site, listened to our concerns, re-evaluated everything and based on everything they decided on implementation of countermeasures. The next day everything changed like day/night and the project proceeded smoothly. The result is impressive and everyone in our townhouse condo complex is now thinking of changing their old systems. I couldn't recommend CPM highly enough. They are top notch professionals, knowledgeable, experienced, and treating their clients as their #1 priority. Although a long and challenging project, it was a pleasure to work with Nick and Tom who made the process smooth and easy. Three years ago we bought an awesome old house, circa 1895(ish). We’ve been building, renovating, painting and redecorating since day one. But we just spent the best money ever! Nick and John and his team were part of an installation of the 8" replacement gas line that feeds the powerhouse. The Powerhouse is in the Franklin Management property park in Southbridge, MA. The plant produces Steam, hot water and cooling to the Hotel and all the buildings in the park. This project required coordination with many contractors and completion of a series of difficult new feeds for gas in the plant and other buildings. The time schedule was aggressive and John and his team completed all the work on time and the work was done with a professional quality.

Managing commercial office buildings for the past 25 years I have worked with many mechanical companies. Control Point Mechanical has been one of the best! I can call on their service manager Dan day or night, seven days a week and count on a reply within 5 minutes. They are quick to respond, knowledgeable and remain on site until the job is completed. CPM's mechanics treat our buildings like their own homes even going out of their way to assist with issues not in their scope of work in order to get a job completed. When they leave the job site I can trust the area they worked in will be left clean and tidy (sounds like small potatoes, but these days a rare find). No job is too big or too small. With great planning and oversight they installed a new chiller that had to be lowered through the roof into the mechanical plant. The job went perfectly right down to the coffee, bagels and donuts Nick provided for all.

As a Project Manager I am looking for a few things from any contractor. 1. accurate scope of work with a cost estimate that supports the research i already did. 2. A realistic schedule 3. Good communication regarding the first 2. From owner to employees, i felt confident in their knowledge of the equipment and they kept in constant communication about work performed each day, if we were postponing work due to weather etc. All real positives. We did a final walkthrough (almost a lessons learned) , and i really appreciated their interest in getting my feedback so they could improve on the next project. My recommendations: Take your time and participate in the planning of the project from the size of the units to the placement both internally and externally. Do some reading on the models available and think about airflow in your home. Finally do your research on any rebates, incentives energy loans available.
